2015 marked an important phase of Vietnam development; the final year of 30-year-long Doi Moi ended with a lot of success. Besides the GDP reached approximately 6.7%, Vietnam reported a “bumper harvest” of bilateral and multilateral agreements when Vietnam successfully signed and finished discussing 04 important agreements with the strongest regions and markets in the world. However, in the era of integration, Vietnam economy in general, automobile and supporting industry in particular are entering the year 2016 with interlaced challenges and opportunities. Currently, development momentum still depends mostly on FDI sector. Additionally, car importing tax in ASEAN is regularly repealed, causing intense pressure on Automobile Market in Vietnam due to price competition. The question is how to increase the competing capability between domestic and imported cars. Developing supporting industry is one of the answers for that question since only when supporting industry developed, which means improve the internal force of automobile industry, can enterprises stand firmly in the era of integration full of competitions and opportunities.
Facing urgent requirements of market and aiming at meeting demands of enterprises on automobile, motorcycle, electrical bike and supporting industries, Saigon Autotech & Accessories 2016 is an opportunity for trade and experiences exchange. This year, Saigon Autotech is focusing on commercial cars, spare parts and accessories, aiming at the target of developing supporting industries in Vietnam. Only in recent 3 years, the total number of enterprises participating exhibition increase by 30%, the localization rate increases by 42%. Although the number of foreign exhibitor is still higher than domestic one, the effort of Organizing Board on raising the number of domestic exhibitors is undeniable. By February, the number of Vietnam enterprises registering increases by 45% in comparison with the same period last year. This is a good sign, showing not only the interest but also effort of enterprises on join hands, developing Vietnam supporting industry.
The 12th Saigon Autotech & Accessories 2016 marks the expansion in scale, compared with previous 11 exhibitions. This year, the scale is estimated to increase to 15,000 sqm with the participants of nearly 700 exhibitors and various displayed products.
